With more than 24,000 fans in attendance over two days, Los Angeles based Insomniac successfully kicked off 2012 by hosting their first all-new 21+-music festival “White Wonderland.”
The two-day, all-white winter wonderland themed festival took place at the Anaheim Convention Center on December 31, 2011, and January 1, 2012, and featured world class musicians including Dada Life, Benny Benassi, Paul van Dyk and Steve Angello. Its spectacular display of special effects, state-of-the-art lighting and sound, and sparkling all-white clad aerialists and performers transformed the Convention Center into an unforgettable White Wonderland experience.
“Large electronic dance music (EDM) festivals require a tremendous amount of planning and Insomniac is aware that our success was made possible with the efforts of our partners, the City of Anaheim and the staff at the Anaheim Convention Center,” said Pasquale Rotella, CEO and founder of Insomniac. “I am appreciative and thankful for both the City and venue’s participation and support.”
As part of the two-day White Wonderland experience fans were required to adhere to an all-white dress code. “White Wonderland was one of the first large-scale EDM events we’ve hosted here at the Anaheim Convention Center,” said David Meek, Manager of the Anaheim Convention Center. “We were very pleased with what a professional and safe show the Insomniac team produced. Everyone had a great time and we know the hotels appreciated the dramatic increase in bookings.”
Additionally, Insomniac reported that with over 24,000 attendees over the 2-day event there were only a handful of arrests and only minor medical issues.
“Our fans asked for Insomniac to produce a New Year’s event in Southern California that would be something special. With its unique blend of musical talent, an all-white theme, and a fantastic venue, we’re really excited with the outcome and looking forward to White Wonderland becoming an annual festival.,” concluded Rotella.
